pagudpud, laoag, ilocos norte
did you even know we had windmills?
We have at least fifteen
along the beach of the town of Bangui.
The bus rose with the road and
the sight of them - the water, the sand, white
windmills - caught at my breath.
i needed that again.
i needed eyes widening in wonder.
i needed a skip of heartbeat.
i needed a quieting.
So finally, i decided on the 1130pm bus to Laoag.
With William the Hermit as its patron saint.
It was a sign.
It was perfect.
